Interview

2. HR calls (first interview)
- why do you want to work at Nordstrom?
- What is your availability?
- when can you come in for an interview? or can you come in at this time?
3. When you get there you sit in a room and then an HR person comes in and introduces the departments that are hiring, then your name is called and you get to choose which department you apply to regardless of position you applied to online
4. second and third interview is with a department manager
- Why do you want to work at nordstrom?
- Tell me about a time when you went above and beyond for a customer?
- Tell me about a time you worked on a team and what was it like?
- Have you ever worked commission before and how do you feel about commission?
- How did you deal with a bad customer?
- How would you teach yourself about a product?
* customer service is HUGE for nordstrom. HUGE. Everything you say/do/did HAS to be centered around customer service and how you will tender to them. The customer is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS RIGHT and you can NEVER SAY "NO" to a customer EVER. Using your BEST BEST BEST JUDGEMENT is KEY to nordstrom too. THere are literally no rules at nordstrom other than USING YOUR BEST NORDSTROM.
Nordstrom is also strictly comission (with some acceptable departments). Great place to work at, friendly environment, and customers are so loyal to nordstrom.

So easy, I went to a job fair and was hired on the spot. They need people in the kids department, that's the easiest section to get into. They just ask about your personality and who you are.
Was inside Barton creek mall, hiring manager was prompt and clear with questions ranging from how I would handle difficult customers, to my personal experiences that could apply to the job.
