I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Oliver Wyman (New York, NY) in Oct 2017
Interview
I interviewed through a recruitment conference. First round was one case, one behavioural. Final round was five rounds - written case, presentation case, behavioral, a QA portion (interviewee asks questions), and a half hour to prep for the written case. All three of my cases were very out of the box - nothing like the MBB format, much looser in structure and I don’t think I ever got a graph or a set of data to look at. It was fairly clear that my casers all gave cases they had been working on or had done something similar. The presentation case was with two partners and involved choosing an economic metric to evaluate the economic impact of an event on a country. Looking back, all three of my cases were quite challenging and fairly technical, but I don’t come from a strong quant background - I think they more tested for the way my brain works rather than my financial or technical acumen. When I got offered a first round, they gave me a case buddy, who was extremely invested in my success throughout the process and was probably the nicest FT woman I met throughout my entire recruitment process. Overall, fairly good interview experience.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Oliver Wyman (Sydney) in Mar 2026
Interview
First, we are given an AI interview with questions to answer on video. They only give 45 s to answer questions. Then there was a face-to-face interview, where it is 2 x 45 mins, where it is the same thing with 2 different people on seperate occasions.
First you take an online assessment. There are two rounds. First is one hour: half case, half behavioral. The first round is with younger analysts. Everyone was nice and supportive, also was on zoom.
2 rounds
R1: 30 min case 30 min behavioral. Case and behavioral weren’t difficult and seemed more like a vibe check.
R2: 2 x 30 min cases and 30 min behavioral (this interview was with much mkre Senior leadership)
