Consider carefully before applying to P3.
I’m a skilled Power BI engineer, and I spent over 16 hours on their skills test — and that’s using a template I had already developed in a previous enterprise role. The design work alone had taken me over 20 hours before that. Despite this, my experience with P3 was disappointing from the start.
The first thing they will do is essentially lie to you, asking you to replicate inaccurate results, which wasted valuable time and is not a good first impression.
After some back-and-forth, I finally received the correct information and completed the test within the 3-week timeframe. I even went above and beyond, providing them with a Power BI training app I had created.
The first interview consisted of generic, outdated questions like “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?” and “What’s your greatest weakness?” which, at this level, feels like a waste of time. It reflected poorly on their HR process.
The second interview with a manager was more relevant, focusing on my experience and consulting skills, and I left with the impression that I was a strong candidate.
However, despite being told they didn’t have enough work at the moment but would reach out when they did, I was later informed via email that I was no longer being considered for the role, without any explanation.
I reached out for feedback, given the time and effort I invested in the process, but received none. It feels as though the entire exercise was a way to obtain free, high-quality Power BI work they could use.
If you're considering applying, weigh the potential lack of return on your investment of time and effort carefully.
