They wasted 2h of their own time by failing to read the first paragraph of my CV with understanding. They wanted a Google Cloud specialist but I'm devops/backend/frontend/fp generalist, which was clearly stated.
Seems like they don't work as a team when hiring. If a person before makes a mistake, the next one has the wrong idea what to expect.
- Introductory phone call - in hindsight what happened is that a non-technical caller must have fixated on my previous job involving GCP and passed that forwards.
- Phone call (bad sound quality) with a technical person asking random infrastructure questions (reasonable though), not interested in experience or insights.
- On site interview (TBH I only went there because I wanted to practice interviewing, I was already uninterested due to the big corp culture I was able to deduce from the emails - so that one's on me). The first person interviewing me finally understood I'm a generalist and so the person after him after a few sentences of chit chat stated that "I'm only beginning" to use GCP (what she actually meant is that I haven't used it with projects like the ones they have in mind).
