I applied online for the SRE 2 position in Toronto and received an immediate response from the recruiter. The entire process took less than a month. After a brief phone call with the recruiter, I had a 1-hour interview with the Hiring Manager, where we discussed my experience, current goals, and future plans for the position. The following week, I was invited to a 2-hour technical panel. The first part was an open-book coding session using the PagerDuty API, and the second part focused on cloud, Linux, networking, and other relevant topics. Afterward, I had a 30-minute follow-up call with the Hiring Manager. A week later, I received positive feedback from the team, but unfortunately, they hired another candidate.
Overall, I had a very positive experience. Everyone was incredibly friendly and open to questions, but I felt there was some lack of communication between interviews regarding the next steps and when to expect feedback.
