I was curious about corporate (never worked corporate before) and so I filled out their application. Ive been a groomer for 20+ years and was in shock after the phone call. All she wanted to talk about is what you can do for them, they offer nothing for you. You are expected to come in at 7am and your last groom dog will come in at 6pm. Im pretty sure it is illegal to force someone to work that long of a "shift". She then states the company does not trust outsiders and that seasoned groomers such as myself will start as a bather and be micromanaged by team leads. Needless to say I terminated the call. It was just ridiculous. Also bathers in no way get the pay of a seasoned groomer, so heres the bottom line. They want to work you to death for barely minimum wage. Sounds like they are only looking for kids right out of high school that have the energy to work 10 plus hours and have no bills to pay. I always wondered why Petsmart is always hiring at just about every location they have. I now understand why.
