Interviewing at PetSmart was the absolute worst experience I have ever had as a candidate. The time between applying and a phone screening took a month, and then another month to schedule an in-person interview. The actual in-person interviews were pretty standard. I was then told a few weeks later that the position I had applied for was filled internally, but that the team liked me and they wanted me to interview for 2 other positions. Great, or so I thought. Another week passes for another phone screen and 3 weeks for yet another in-person interview. Not so fast, unfortunately, 1 of the interviewers is still not back from maternity leave (why would they schedule her in the first place?) So I had my in-person interview, and then was scheduled for a skype interview with the woman that couldn't be there in person. After about 3 months of being played around with, they decided to not extend an offer. I would not have accepted a position if it was offered at that point anyway. Based on their recruiting division, I cannot imagine how unorganized and hectic the internal workings of PetSmart must be. I have since talked to several people in the Phoenix area that have had similar experiences with PetSmart.
