Took a long time to chat with the person in charge. Hiring recruiters were really nice and easy to get along with, they were pushing it through but seemed like it stalled once it got to management.

I received emails from two people in HR saying they wanted to schedule interviews with HR and with the hiring manager in Marketing. I responded to both confirming receipt of both emails and provided my availability for both interviews. One got scheduled but not the other; the HR piece was skipped entirely. Unfortunately, that was an important step because the job fit was not aligned and would have been a better use of everyone’s time to have had that discussion. I wouldn’t have minded that, but I never heard back from HR after the initial email except to receive an automated email that the position had been filled, which wasn’t relevant to me anyway. The poor communication and lack of professionalism really frustrated me; job hunting and interviews is a two-way street, where candidates are bringing valuable skills to the table. My time and experience is just as valuable as the hiring team’s.
