      Software Quality Assurance Engineer Interview

      27 Mar 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Andover, MA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Philips (Andover, MA) in Feb 2014

      Interview

The entire interview process lasted 3-4 hours, and it included four independent interviews with different personnel from the department. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the questions were not technical in nature. You can expect to be asked questions that make you give specific examples from your work experience. And don't be surprised if you hear the same questions repeated by different interviewers; everyone uses the same STAR "play book."

      Question 1

In general, the questions were not difficult. Here are two: In your experience, what is the most challenging aspect of collaborating with clinicians? What is the difference between verification and validation?

      Software QA Engineer Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Seattle, WA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Philips (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2018

      Interview

Brief. HR was generally very professional cooperative but I noticed some communication issues with other candidates regarding interview timing/scheduling. At my interview location, one applicant said there was a mistake with interview time slot selection.

      Software Quality Assurance Engineer Interview

      30 Jun 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Andover, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Philips (Andover, MA) in Jun 2017

      Interview

Philips in-house recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn. I had a 30 min technical interview with him. This was followed by a 15 min interview with General HR who then setup an onsite interview. Everything very professional to this point. My interview was with 4 people at the same time, slotted for 45 mins total. People were a Director, 2 Sr. Managers, and a QA peer level. 45 min interview reduced by 10 mins by walk to conference room and 2 late arrivals. They asked me questions for all but last 5 mins. Then it was what can we answer for you but we need to leave on time for a meeting. Then no word afterwards, despite stating on their own website – “If you’re not selected for the position, your recruiter will share this information with you as a professional courtesy and in acknowledgement of your time and interest in Philips.” Total BS. I have no qualms with not being a fit, but this was just truly unprofessional. I don’t know why they bothered to bring me onsite (and I wasted a vacation day for it, too).

      Software QA Engineer Interview

      13 May 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Philips

      Interview

It was just one hour long technical and competency-based interview with two people. This included a 20 minute paper-based test which required writing test scripts based on a screenshot of a website. I was also asked a series of technical questions about automated and manual testing, test coverage and Agile Methodology. The entire interview process was quite fast and informal.
