Question 1
Leetcode 1564. Put Boxes Into the Warehouse I.
Follow up: what is maximum total box sizes.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Pinterest in Aug 2014
Interview
I had a first call with a recruiter that was more like a conversation, she asked about my previous projects, my interest in the position and the company. Then followed two technical phone interviews using collabedit to code a couple of problems. Both interviewers were very nice, but the first one was really quiet which was not helping much in a coding interview. Second one was totally the opposite, building a quite nice collaborative interview environment. Nice experience overall, I am not particularly a fan of coding interviews but the problems were not that hard and it was not a bad experience. A couple of days after the second interview the recruiter contacted me with nice feedback but saying that I was not a match. I got the impression from both the feedback and the recruiting process that the position was for a graduate and not for a experienced engineer so I guess I agreed that there was no match and it was nice that the recruiter contacted me soon without making me wait.

Question 1
There were two problems to solve: A) Write a job scheduler. Input : list of jobs with dependencies. Output: list of jobs to be executed according to dependencies. B) Count calendar days. Input: list of ranges [start, end], a range represent days i.e. [1,4] means days from 1 to day 4. Output: Total days included in the list of ranges. Answer was 1)Sort list, 2)Merge overlapping ranges and 3) Count/Sum the days of the resulting non-overlapping ranges.
Recruiter call, tech round, onsite and rejection call. They sent me an email about a week after the last onsite and asked me to schedule a call on the same day. I scheduled a call to listen 30 second long rejection notice. A half of interview rounds were horrible. Interviewers were not prepared and arrogant.
Good experience not the best outcome. Was 1000% sure I completed all coding and sys design but was told didn't get enough signal for the competency round. Overall very organized but not very satisfied with the response.
