      Front End Web Developer Interview

      4 Jun 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Haifa
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Plus500 (Haifa) in May 2024

      Interview

I applied for this position via LinkedIn. An HR recruiter contacted me by phone, explained the opportunity, and scheduled a technical video interview. The conversation with the Frontend Guild Master took about one hour and went smoothly with a lot of positive vibes. He asked some general questions about my experience and some specific questions about Angular (even though the job required working with Vue.js). The second technical interview was held at the company's office in Haifa (MATAM industrial zone). There were two interviewers: a tech lead and a group manager. This interview was much longer (1.5 hours) and was far less pleasant. The group manager seemed rude and angry, and didn't give me an opportunity to express myself and answer the questions fully. At the beginning, they lectured about the company's products and other irrelevant details meant to glorify themselves (like the fact that the company sponsors Legia Warsaw football club). Later, I introduced my experience and knowledge, answered some petty questions about Angular, sketched a system's design on a piece of paper, and finished with a coding question on paper as well (overloaded for 1.5 hours). At the end, I was told that if I passed this stage, I would need to come back for a four-hour programming task. About ten days later, I received an email informing me that I did not pass to the next step. Given the significant effort I invested in this process, including time and money, I tried to ask for some feedback regarding the pros and cons of my application via email and SMS, but surprisingly, I didn't get any response from them. In conclusion, it seems like an excessively long process that isn't worth it.
