Was approached by the company's recruiter and went through the standard preliminary phone interview questions; virtual initial interview with hiring manager. I wasn't given any indication by the recruiter that the hiring manager was going to have a strong requirement for experience for an uncommon set of disease indications. I felt my time was wasted. Hiring manager tried to put on a courteous face, but I could tell my chances were over once I didn't have the experience he was looking for.
