I had an interview and then a writing task which I had to write a press release. It was tough and had a two hour time limit. Although the process was smooth there was not much feedback and it really came down to the writing task.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Propeller (Denver, CO) in Feb 2026
Interview
Propeller uses a series of four interviews in their process. The first is an initial phone screen to understand your experience. Interviews two and three are with different people where they ask questions about cultural fit and also a mini business case. The fourth interview is a longer business case with a presentation to mock clients. The process is described on their website.

Question 1
I interviewed for a change management position, so they asked typical questions about stakeholder engagement and resistance management.
I applied online for the role, which at the time listed a salary range going up to 152k. After submitting my application, I had a screening call with a recruiter to review my background and overall fit. I then completed two interviews that focused on my general experience and included a short case-style exercise.
After those interviews, the recruiter reached out again to discuss compensation. At that point, I was informed that the salary range had been lowered since I applied and that they could not offer anything above 140k. This change was not communicated earlier in the process, and the originally posted range was not honored.
I would encourage the company to be transparent with candidates upfront about any changes to compensation ranges, and I’d advise future applicants to confirm the salary range early in the process to avoid surprises.
Aside from the compensation discrepancy, everyone I spoke with was professional and pleasant, and the culture seemed positive. Unfortunately, the inconsistency around the salary range affected my overall experience and desire to work for them.
