1st- online interview. Panel of 3. Hiring manager keeps interrupting.
2nd- on site interview. Panel of 2. Hiring manager and his boss. Self-introduction of everyone present. They have been working more than 20 years at Qualcomm and I'll be replacing someone who has been working for almost a decade. Good sign this is a good long term employment.
However, it went downhill from there. Apart from 1 question related to my abilities, everything else was about me having a young family, religion, how far away i live ( less than an hour away) and listening to my fortune being told (director-level interviewer firmly believes he has the ability to know a person just by their looks) and some sub-par kindergarten question.
Left the interview wondering if these guys have been formally trained to conduct interviews or if there are guidelines in Qualcomm on how to conduct a fair interview.
Next day- Contacted by talent acquisition with an offer.
Needless to say, I didn't accept although the package was huge
On hindsight, the recruiter and talent acquisition people were efficient and polite, kudos to them coz I have never seen somebody HR related doing above average. Sadly, these 2 discriminating dinosaurs spoiled my hope of a dream role.
