Rapid7 Interview Questions

Had a screening call with a recruiter. She was somewhat reluctant to share what the salary for the job was which should have been a red flag. Then she told me she'd get back to me tomorrow but if not then it'd be at least a week. I didn't get further in the process because they wanted someone with more cyber security experience which struck me as odd since I held Ciscos Advanced Security Cert at my last job and have experience creating social content for various vendors security solutions. Perhaps I was like too eager?

Phone screen with recruiter, then 30 min zoom meeting with hiring manager, and finally a panel interview with more members of the team. Pretty Standard and great communication with recruiter throughout process.

Friendly recruiting team, simple process, respectful of time and in nice offices. First contact with junior recruiter (in house) then handed to more senior recruiter. Final stage was line manager interview.

Live interview showcasing a previously completed project (30 min) followed by a behavioral interview with manager and other team member(s) (30 min) that concludes with a time to ask your own questions about the company.

Had an initial phone screen with recruiter, who was excellent and answered many of my questions about the role. They were enthusiastic about my qualifications for the role and made it clear they were eager to advance me in the process and would “set up a meeting in the next few days” with the next stakeholder in the process. After a week, I still hadn’t heard anything so I followed up. Three weeks go by; nothing still, so I follow up again. It’s been nearly two months now since the initial interview and I’ve heard absolutely nothing back, even to my follow up and thank you emails. Was very excited to proceed in the interview process and the recruiter was very explicit that I was a perfect fit, and that there would be immediate next steps. Very disappointed in the lack of communication and transparency in this process, even in the early stages of the interviewing process.

First interview was essentially brief overview conducted by an HR representative. This was very light on information and they seemed mostly concerned with discussion of what alcohols were "on tap" in the office. A solid red flag to start! A technical interview followed which lasted around 1 hour and involved a pretty varied discussion around the questions regarding device drivers and networking. The interview panel consisted of 2 people, one of whom was both engaged and engaging while the other showed an alarming lack of interest throughout. Altogether it was a rather substandard and repellent experience.

Applied on 2/6. Received email from recruiter on 2/22. Interview with recruiting on 2/23. Interviewed with hiring manager on 2/28. Along with two more interviews. Recruiting was phenomenal and interviewers were very personable.

I had one interview with the recruiter, but unfortunately, I experienced being ghosted afterward. Despite sending a follow-up email, I did not receive any response from HR. It would be appreciated if there was at least some communication informing us of the outcome, even if it is a rejection.

Never heard back after doing two interviews. Interviewer didn’t look too interested in the process and had only asked couple questions about my experience at Companies I worked for in past. Don’t think they asked enough to truly assess if I was a good fit. Ended up getting an offer for 20k more anyways elsewhere so worked out for the best!

I applied online. After a week or so a recruiter reached out and we set up a time to chat. The recruiter was close to 10 minutes late to the meeting. I was then told the position was hybrid (not listed on application) but the managers would be remote. The salary range was not competitive and combined with the above points I decided to withdraw my application the next day. Too many things rubbed me the wrong way.
