The interview was very casual "tell me about yourself" sort of thing. I interviewed with the cafe owner and the general manager, who are related to each other (mother-in-law/daughter-in-law). We talked for maybe 20-30 minutes. They were very sweet and even offered me a coffee drink while we were talking.
I was put-off a bit though because they asked personal questions that can be potentially discriminatory about my family life and how I manage childcare. They also weren't able to answer me clearly about how they determine employee performance. I accepted the job despite some beige flags because their intent didn't seem nefarious and their inability to answer my questions was likely due to lack of performance review structure in such a casual employment environment.
