      Interview

      Answer question

      Interview

While interviewing for Ryanair, I had the most disrespectful and disorganized experience I ever had during an interview process. Shortly after submitting my application, I was contacted by one of their recruiters to schedule a first interview with herself and the hiring manager a couple of days later. The call went pretty well and I was invited to complete a case study. An hour or so after sending the case study back, I was invited to a second interview with the manager of my manager. This is when things became distressing, as most of the questions I was asked were about my personal life and free time. He also made biased comments about my nationality. This is not what I'd expect from an experienced professional working for such a major company. A few days later, I was suggested to continue the hiring process for a lower-ranking position while never receiving feedback for the one I applied for. When I declined, I was invited to be interviewed for a third position ranking higher than the one I had initially applied for. I found that quite confusing and the only explanation I received was that the team was considering all candidates for all roles. I was then scheduled for an interview with another hiring manager. However, he never meant it to be an interview because he walked into the meeting saying that he just wanted to put faces to names. He also asked me whether I knew they were recruiting for that lower-ranking role. He didn't ask any questions and the call was over in just five minutes. I was baffled. I never heard back from Ryanair about any of the positions we discussed, even after sending a follow-up email to the recruiter a couple of weeks after my last interview. On top of that, whenever I asked about the next steps during the process, they were never able to provide an overview of what or how many those would be. This is the worst candidate experience I ever had. I believe it not only shows disorganization and confusion about what they're looking for but also disrespect for the candidates' time and effort.
