Efficient and mostly positive, until the end. First and second interviews were over the phone and were great. I was quickly brought in to meet the two who had already interviewed me. The conversation lacked structure, felt like a formality, and seemed to be more for me to ask more questions of the same people I already spoke to. I was then brought to meet the CEO, who either mixed me up with another candidate or didn’t read my resume. She thought I was a fresh college face when I’ve had a nearly decade-long career. Her office was also absurdly hot - 78 degrees - and I couldn’t stop sweating in my suit. It was also hard to form rapport with her when she hadn’t taken my candidacy seriously and that should’ve been my indication that I wasn’t really in the running. I’d been given every indication I was a top choice until more than a week went by and I was told I didn’t get the job. I asked for the top of the listed salary range and if that was the reason I wasn’t chosen, they didn’t even ask to negotiate with me. Even so, my rejection email from one of the interviewers was the most effusive note I’ve ever received for a job I didn’t get. I have no clue what happened, and I haven’t seen the role filled, either.
