I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Step By Step Learning (Pittsburgh, PA) in Jul 2021
Interview
The interview was pretty direct. They ask a series of questions regarding early literacy such as decoding, the literacy pillars, how effective each is and give examples of working with students in small groups.

Interview
The interview was with the president. He should consider hiring HR, because he literally rambled about politics multiple times and dissed teachers in unions who "get a raise every year regardless of their work."
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There were very few questions about my actual work, but when he finally let the cat out of the bag that it was a contract position (not advertised as such, and I am not interested in contract work), he continued chatting about the cost of doing business and how difficult it is to pay for benefits.

Interview
After applying online, I was notified by email that I was selected for a one way video interview. They use an online platform that puts the question up for 30 seconds, then gives you 1 min to answer. There were 10 questions, a little stressful because as you are answering you see the time running out
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First round asked specific literacy and instructional questions (ie stepping stones to literacy, how to run small group instruction, comprehension activities)
Second round was more standard (qualities that make you a good fit; salary requirements)
