Received a call from human resources and was asked to conduct a phone interview. Phone interview was standard with normal questions about background. The interview went well and I was invited for an in-person interview in Waterloo. To get there I had to take an unpaid day off of my internship and drive all the way to Waterloo from Toronto. I was told I would be meeting with two different managers, the first one of which was late in showing up. The actual interview lasted approximately ten minutes. The manager had clearly never looked at my resume before and told me that they "don't hire people with public sector experience" as "they are incapable of performing in a fast pace environment. " After that I was told to leave and wasn't permitted to have the second interview. I can say it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company and have never applied for another job with Sun Life. Between the gas money and lost wages the whole experience cost me hundred of dollars interviewing a job they knew I had a 0% chance of getting.
