      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Swedish (Seattle, WA)

      Interview

I sat with the supervisor of the department in a windowed room. The process itself takes about 30 minutes and had a very casual feel to it. Questions were generally basic (pros and cons of yourself) and did not require any major knowledge on US healthcare

      Interview

About a week after I applied I received an invitation to do a Hirevue interview, which is a video interview, where you are asked questions and you have a set amount of time to respond. Really awkward. About a week later I was contacted and asked to come in for an in person interview. In the meantime they asked for references before the in person. I did the in person about a week later and didn’t hear anything, but checked in after a week. I was told the hiring manager hadn’t made a decision. I expressed I was still interested but also interviewing for other jobs. I checked in once more after it had been about 3 weeks and was asked to come in again for a second interview with a different supervisor. This was a waste of my time. I was there maybe 10 minutes. I’m the first interview they asked almost all the same questions as the video interview. The second interview the supervisor asked me a couple of the same and said I’d hear something by a set date. That date came and I reached out. I had received a couple of job offers but wanted to weigh all my options so I was holding out. I asked them to let me know if I was no longer being considered so I could move on. They dragged me along for more days before I finally pulled the plug. Ludicrous amount of time (2 months) for a fairly entry level position. Communication was poor and disrespectful of my time. HR put the blame on the hiring manager. But they had issues too. If this is what the process is like to get hired, I can’t imagine what it would be like to work in that department.
