Applied directly on 20th June, had an initial response back from recruitment, a week later had an email from James asking me to interview. Was quite a lot of back and forth trying to find out basic info like online vs in person, who I’d be meeting with - James didn’t have his signature on his email with any kind of job title.
Interview set for that week, fairly straightforward but I asked a question and he got the wrong end of the stick and went off on a tangent about a completely different role for 10 minutes. Afterwards he sent an email saying they would complete this round in the next 2 weeks and if successful I’d be invited back for an in person interview. Either way I would hear back from them in due course. I waited 3 weeks, sent a chasing email and nothing.
Not an issue if I wasn’t going to proceed to the next round but the bare minimum would be to communicate that. I gave my time, that deserves the respect of a reply. Particularly when chased. James has a background in large scale hotels, he’s certainly not green, so this reeks of laziness, ineptitude or disregard for other people. Not exactly a stellar recommendation on his managerial skills.
