I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Tata Consultancy Services (San Jose, CA) in Aug 2025
Interview
The process was disorganized and frustrating. Instead of TCS reaching out directly, I was contacted by a third-party recruiting firm. They were very pushy, even pressuring me to change my resume to include details I wasn’t comfortable with. In the end, they submitted the version I had written, but not without resistance.
I was never given a proper job description, only a set of vague bullet points with no real context. My initial conversation with TCS was mostly focused on whether I would be willing to go into the office rather than my qualifications. After that, I was passed to the client for the actual interview. It was only at that point that I finally learned what the role really involved, and it turned out not to be a fit.
Overall, the lack of transparency, limited information, and poor preparation support made it very difficult to know what I was walking into. This approach doesn’t set candidates up for success and left me with a negative impression of the process.
