The interview began with a recruiter discussing my qualifications and experience with U.S. federal projects, which met all stated requirements. However, after learning that I wasn’t born in the U.S., the recruiter disqualified me, citing a need for candidates “born and raised in the USA.” This discriminatory practice is not only unjust but also illegal, as U.S. employment law prohibits discrimination based on national origin.
