I emailed my resume to a recruiter's email address, found on my university's career site, while sitting in a M.B.A. class and the recruiter called me a few hour later. She asked me a few basic questions about myself (i.e. when I graduate) and told me she had two departments that she would like to set up phone interviews with me.
Both interviews were about an hour long and were not very intense. The managers essentially asked me about myself, including my background, interests, and general experience. We discussed portions of my resume and I asked numerous questions about the department, their position, and the intern position I was applying for. One manager had a project manager from the group call me the next day so I could informally ask questions about the group and the position's roles.
The recruiter called me back about a week later informing me that both groups offered me a position, and I accepted one of them. I interned in the group for three months in the summer, and was offered a full time position once I finish my graduate degree.
