      Sales Associate Interview

      18 Apr 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at The Home Depot

      Interview

I applied online after hearing about openings. It was a basic application followed by a questionnaire of work-related and personality type questions. Approximately a week later I received an email stating that I would be contacted for a screening. The email included a phone number I could call so I called. The phone call began with a computer interaction with things like press 1 for English, then it told me that the job required bending and lifting and asked me to press 1 if I was still interested. I was transferred to a representative after that who asked me some basic interview questions (sorry I cannot remember the exact questions, but they were not too difficult). She asked me if I was still interested in the position and after I said yes she arranged an in-store interview for me and gave me directions for who to request at the service desk. I arrived fifteen minutes early and after waiting for a few minutes I met the person conducting the interview. Prior to asking me any questions he let me know how many positions were available and let me know that second interviews would be arranged next week when the assistant manager came back from vacation. He said the interview would consist of six questions that would be asked to everyone interviewed. The interview questions were not too difficult and mostly consisted of giving specific examples of previous experience in customer service. Overall I though he was very nice, and I hope to hear back next week.
