I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Together Women Rise in Jan 2025
Interview
The interview process for this role consisted of two rounds with the CEO and CFO (at least for me), providing an opportunity to build relationships and foster deeper connections compared to interviewing with different individuals in each round.
The second interview included a practical scenario where I was asked to respond to a grantee who had recently lost their 501(c)(3) status, thereby losing their grant with Rise. I appreciated the chance to tackle a realistic challenge relevant to the role, especially as I had two days to prepare and research Rise's policies.
Both interviewers were extremely welcoming, candid in their responses and offered immediate feedback to many of my answers. My only constructive feedback is that some of the questions were fairly broad and difficult to answer without additional context (e.g., "How would you manage a relationship with a contractor?").
Overall, it was a very positive experience, and the team appears to foster a supportive and strong culture. Regardless of the outcome, I am genuinely excited to see the organization’s growth and continued impact! They seem like a stellar team.

Question 1
How would you explain the role of Grantmaking Manager to someone outside of the organization? What 3 qualities do you deem important for this role? How would you onboard Grants Committee Members to Salesforce?
Virtual interview with the direct supervisor and HR consultant. They alternated questions and were prepared. The questions and process spoke to workplace culture, day-to-day operations, and the scope of work.
