I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Total Utility Connections (Cardiff, Wales) in Jan 2025
Interview
Initial interview was great, informal, get to know you type scenario. 2nd stage interview onsite was not. It felt more like an interrogation, there was an exercise which I hadn't been asked to prepare for - despite asking if I needed to prep anything for the role, and the interview questions seemed misaligned with what I had previously been told about the role.
It was an experience that was totally at odds with the first stage interview and made me wonder if I wanted to work there at all.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked a specific question about systems which seemed more to ask about my existing companies financials than what I could bring to the role
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Total Utility Connections (Cardiff, Wales)
Interview
I was interviewed by two persons, one of whom gave the impression that they couldn't be bothered being there.
Once I addressed my chronic pain conditions and asked the question about any special accommodations that could be made with regards to remote working, I was told that it wouldn't be possible and then they'd have to look into specialist equipment for me. It seemed obvious from that point that I wasn't likely to get the role. I only applied due the fact that others who are employed there do in fact have options to work remotely occasionally.
