      Program Manager Interview

      27 Apr 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Minneapolis, MN
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Trane Technologies (Minneapolis, MN) in Jul 2017

      Interview

One of the worst processes I’ve ever witnessed. After the initial phone screens I met with what I would call the 3 stooges and their de facto leader. None of which were actually in management. They had about five sheets of questions, each having the same copy. However, one guy jumped in and wanted me to review my resume, another guy followed up. Off to a good start, right? Well after about 15 minutes the de facto leader got upset because they weren’t following the script. Needless to say the next hour was painful. At one point, one of the stooges stopped and said, “you know all of your answers are “we did” or “my team did”. Did you actually do these things because you really should be saying I instead of we.” I responded by asking if they valued individual achievements or team accomplishments. Their response, “we should get back to the script.” At the end of the day, I was thankful to have not worked with them. A few months later, I received 1099 in the mail for the travel reimbursement. Odd. At one point, I was asked a question about my family. Stooge 4 reminded Stooge 1 that they shouldn’t ask that. I don’t think all areas are like this, but none of these guys should be interviewing. Hope this helps.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Trane Technologies (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2014

      Interview

One of best processes I've experienced. It starts with Phone interview with HR, then a phone interview with hiring manager. Onsite interview starts with you doing a presentation about your career (they provided template) then 1:1 interviews the rest of day.

      Question 1

Most questions were situational about how you handle different scenarios.
