I applied online for the Customer Service Associate (Premium Audit) position in mid July 2024, completed an online assessment, received an email from a recruiter a few days later, thanking me for my application and letting me know I would receive a follow up in the coming weeks.
Knowing how tough the job market is these days, I honestly did not expect to receive anything except a rejection email. Fortunately, in mid August I was contacted by another recruiter and was asked to self-schedule myself for a phone interview. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised and wasted no time placing myself on schedule asap lol!
When the recruiter contacted me to conduct the phone interview, she was very friendly and professional. She briefly went over the details of the position, and asked me about my work experience. The entire conversation went smoothly.
From there, she let me know that she would pass my credentials to the hiring manager, and recommend me for a follow up virtual interview via MS Teams, with members of the Premium Audit team. She also provided me with helpful Star Method interviewing tips.
My virtual interview took place within the last week of August. I interviewed with two young ladies from the Premium Audit team, and both were very friendly, polite and professional.
They made me feel extremely comfortable during the interview process, as they asked situational/scenario type questions. I was allowed to be myself, and showcase my personality, as well as, my skills. I recall smiling so much, that my cheeks began hurting lol. I had not experienced this with any other company I'd interviewed with in the past. That's how much I truly enjoyed this interview!
After everything wrapped up, they placed me with a seasoned employee, that provided me with a wealth of information regarding the position, and what to expect on a day to day basis. Her energy was very positive, and she allowed me to ask a lot of questions.
The conversation was fun, relaxed, and almost felt as if we had been co-workers for years. Trust me when I say, I am not exaggerating!
The entire virtual interview lasted approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Low and behold, the day after Labor Day, I received a phone call from the recruiter and I was offered the position. I happily accepted!
My advice to everyone that wishes to explore a job opportunity with Travelers Insurance, is to bring your 'A' game.
Express genuine interest in the role you applied for, and the company as a whole, answer all questions truthfully by drawing from past work experiences, and present yourself in an upbeat, relatable, and professional manner.
Blessings to all job seekers during these difficult economic times, and remain strong and steadfast. You will win the battle!
