      Regional Vice President Interview

      19 May 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Hartford, CT
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Travelers (Hartford, CT) in Sept 2012

      Interview

Met with a handful of different people and did mostly behavioral interviews. This consisted of several different interview sessions in several different cities. The company does a good job of interviewing the candidate, but also letting the candidate interview the company in order to determine that the role will be a good mutual fit. I met with a number of different people in different roles that were connected to the position I was interviewing for in a variety of different ways. This helped gain a good perspective of the people I'd be working with, the responsibilities and expectations of the role, etc. Overall, I do think that the firm ended up weighing interviewing skills over actual work experience, which I say based on feedback about why I wasn't offered the role. It was mostly about subtle mannerisms or nuances of interview responses not being quite what they were looking for. That aside, it was a good process and the company seems to be genuinely making an effort to have a good process and good practices around interviewing for higher-level roles.
