Anonymous Interview Candidate in Berlin
I applied online. I interviewed at Twitch (Berlin)

Amazon process that includes difficult questions related to the leadership principles at Amazon. Must use the STAR method when answering questions to achieve success in the interview process. Good luck to you!
- Name a time when you faced a difficult situation with a team member and how did you solve it?

I interviewed at Twitch (San Francisco, CA)
Great recruiting team, transparent communication and establishing expectations regarding interview and hiring process. The hiring manager was also thorough about the role and responsibilities. Overall the interview was smooth. I accepted another offer so I didn’t get to the third round or technical interview.
- What do you do in your current role?

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Twitch
There were several rounds of interviews across multiple weeks. First with a recruiter, then the hiring manager, and then his manager and another person on the team. The interviews themselves varied between easygoing and difficult depending on to whom you were speaking. I thought I did really well, and my experience matched the requirements of the role. My biggest gripe with the whole process is this: after weeks of interviews and getting to the final stage, I got a form rejection email informing me they were no longer considering me. When I reached out to the recruiter for feedback on what I could have done better, he informed me they cannot share interview feedback due to company policy. Ultimately I wouldn't say the interviews were hard themselves, and everyone I spoke to was polite, professional, and knowledgeable. But going through that long an interviewing process and receiving just the basic form rejection from a no-reply email address put a bad taste in my mouth. If the recruiter had sent even a basic email explaining they're moving forward with other candidates, I wouldn't have had an issue.
- Basic STAR behavioral questions, asking about past challenges, etc.

The slow responses and evident lack of organization between co-ordinators have been a source of frustration during the hiring process. However, on a positive note, the interviewers have been exceptionally friendly and displayed a commendable level of knowledge in their respective fields.

Straight forward process. HR Screener, interview with Hiring manager followed by panel 'On site'. HR recruiter was incredible, one of the best recruiters I've worked with. He was transparent about team budgets, timelines, anything a candidate would need or want to know. He explained that the candidates needs were in his best interest. The panel round was 4 interviews, each individuals from different teams. Each interview focused on a different area of the Amazon principles.
- Tell me about a time you had to communicate a change in direction in a project that you anticipated others having concerns with.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Twitch (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2023
Standard 3 rounds. Phone screen, technical, on-site. Very easy experience, well handled and efficient. Should be treated as any Amazon interview. Prepare and you will do fine. Prepare stories in the STAR format for interview rounds.
- Lots of behavioral questions focused on Amazon's leadership principles.

I interviewed at Twitch (Los Angeles, CA)
Helpful recruiter, interviews were informative and very open to questions. Panel interview had a range of employees who all worked within the vicinity of the position, all questions came from Amazon's question bank
- Can you give me an example of a project that you are proud of?

Several rounds of interviews where you were quizzed on company values. It was a fairly normal process in the office with an adequate amount of time for breaks. During this period you were given updates from the relevant HR representative. Following the interview there was a relatively brief period before the representative came back with the outcome.
- Questions on values and motivations

There was 3 rounds of interviews. First with Recruiter, then Hiring Manager, then panel interview with members of the team. Overall was a positive experience and a good way to learn about the role, meet members of the team, and learn about the culture. Thought I did really well but didn't get an offer. You really have to bring your A game. Really liked meeting everyone at Twitch. I had interviewed at Amazon before and it was a similar process but a bit more intense.
