      City Mail Carrier Interview

      2 Sept 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Grand Rapids, MI
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at US Postal Service (Grand Rapids, MI) in Aug 2015

      Interview

I applied online for a carrier position in March of 2015. I was emailed to take the exam on April 20th; I passed. On July 7th, I was asked to give consent to a background check through email if I was still interested in the position and I had 3 days to respond to that. I then received a group email to attend an interview on August 14th with about 30 other candidates for the same position. I assumed that the interview went great! Subsequently, I was told to make sure I be looking out for an email. Today is September 2, 2015 and I have not heard anything else so far. However, I do look forward to getting another email with instructions for the next move in the hiring process as I was not told that I officially had the job or did not have the job upon leaving. My anxiety level right now is through the roof! But, I guess it is just a really long process. Well, with it being a government job and all. But, the overall process so far has been smooth sailing.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

"Have you ever worked outside in any or all weather conditions?" "If a supervisor asked you to do something, yet another supervisor stopped you and told you to do something else, what would you do"? "How would you handle a supervisor that is not so nice to you"? "Give me an example of how you dealt with unruly customers"? "How would you handle a situation where a customer accused you of not delivering their mail on time, but you are just covering a shift?"
