      Customer Service Representative Interview

      1 Dec 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Auburn, GA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uline (Auburn, GA) in Jan 2019

      Interview

The interview process at Uline was a lengthy one. After submitting my application via LinkedIn, I received a call from HR about fifteen minutes later saying that they wanted to schedule an in-person interview for the following week. Before going to the actual interview, they emailed me 4 online assessments that needed to be completed, as well as a 10 page paper application that I would turn in the day of. The online assessments consisted of a word association personality test, a jung typology test, a sales assessment test, and a writing test. On the day of the actual interview, all the applicants were taken to the warehouse where they had tables set up for all of us to sit in together. There, we took two more assessments that each had a 4 minute time cap. There was a numbers pattern test and a numbers similarity test. Once those were completed, there were about 4-5 managers that called each of us one by one to be interviewed individually. We were still in the warehouse, and other people were being Interviewed at a table right next to us, although we couldn't hear the other people's conversation. It was a short interview.. probably about 10-15 minutes for most, so it is important to prepare your answers for this interview!! The other Glassdoor posts give you a pretty good idea of what kind of questions they'll ask. Study and prepare for those, and you should do well. This interview was the moment of truth: if they didn't like you, they walked you out of the building and said something like "we'll be in touch." If they DID like you, you were asked to hang back to continue the process. Only 2 or 3 of about 20 interviewees were chosen to stay behind. The next step was taking two more timed assessments: a spelling test and a typing test. After this, they had us individually shadow two employees for about 30 minutes to see what it was like to work there. Afterwards, you met with a different manager to have a second interview. This one was more lengthy and in depth. It lasted about 30 to 45 minutes. Once done with them, it was the end of the process for me. They said they would let me know in about 3 to 5 business days, but I received a call at the end of the same day saying that they wanted to proceed with my application. To proceed, I had to provide AT LEAST 2 supervisor references and 1 coworker reference, as well my college diploma. They reached out to my references the day after I submitted them, and the following business day I received a job offer. The final step before actually being able to begin working is to take a hair drug test at a local clinic, which can go back 90+ days. They cut off a small sample of hair from your root, and the results come back in about 1 to 3 business days. It's a lengthy process, but it's a great company with wonderful benefits and good pay.

      Interview

The interview process itself was straightforward and professional. What disappointed me was the lack of follow-up communication after being told I would be updated on next steps. Instead, I had to check my application status on the Uline website, where it changed from green to red, indicating I was no longer being considered.
