      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (Chicago, IL) in Nov 2013

      Interview

There were a few initial HR preliminary interviews to gauge willingness and abilities. The main interview process was based on the STAR system http://careerservices.wayne.edu/behavioralinterviewinfo.pdf . The interview was pretty tough because the position had a lot of operational questions related to the airline industry. But by being prepared for STAR interview type questions as well as being able to take a few minutes to craft my responses, the interview went very well.

      Question 1

I can't get too much into the details because of the sensitivity of being in an FAA regulated position. Just know that the most difficult questions were about strategy and execution from a policy and procedure aspect of the airline at an airport.

      Interview

Very polite, good questions and the time frame to give an answer was on the promised time. The questions were very related to the position I was applying for. My future boss was present. I had an excellent overall experience, they made me feel comfortable at all times

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (Chicago, IL) in May 2014

      Interview

Received initial HR call 3 weeks after submitting resume. Call was very basic, just to confirm I was still interested. In person interview at Willis tower was with a manager and supervisor. Both were casually dressed. They took turns asking only the five preformatted behavioral questions they had in their paper and kept extensive notes.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What do you do if you don't have the data you need? Where do you get industry news? Give an example of when you failed. Give an example of how you improved productivity. They did not ask questions like 'tell us about you' or 'why do you want to work here'...
