      Flight Attendant Interview

      15 Feb 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2016

      Interview

Dress to impress for the F2F! They really look at first impression and are looking for the conservative flight attendant look. See their uniforms for inspiration and if you have long hair pull it back. When going to the F2F make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get there! I gave myself about an hour and a half (from a hotel 10 min away from SFO) and arrived only 10 minutes prior to the interview due to airport traffic and the busy hotel shuttle. Once you get to the business center you enter and all of the flight attendants doing the interview, like everyone else has said, are extremely friendly, welcoming, and overall really excited about what they do. They go through the presentation, allow you to ask questions and then call you individually (there didn’t seem to be any specific order) to do the one on one with one of the flight attendants who did the presentation. I thought I would be so nervous, but my one on one felt so conversational and genuine. It truly pays off to show who you really are and to have authentic enthusiasm. Of course you want to have specific customer service scenarios ready. Most of them have already been posted on here. (One that kind of threw me off was, what is one thing you would change to become the perfect flight attendant, or something kind of strange like that.) After that, I was lucky enough to be one of the few to get the second interview with two of the higher-level recruiters. I think I waited about an hour and a half to go in to that interview, but I was super calm because everyone is truly so nice. They ask more details about why United and it is really easy to talk to them. They even ask follow up questions to make sure they understand what you said. After that they asked me to step out of the room for a few moments so they could discuss some of my answers. I was sent back in and they asked me questions do you have tattoos, would you be ready for training in two weeks, drug testing, background check, etc. I was thinking maybe I would get a CJO then and there but my heart sunk when they said they would go over some more of my answers and resume and get back in 5-7 days. I was the last one to be called in for both rounds of interviews so I was there for about a total of 5 hours or so maybe even more and wasn’t able to ask anyone in my group about their experience because they were all gone by then. I just got the email saying unfortunately not this time. I think I was kind of expecting it when I got the second interview and ended up being super disappointed. Overall, it was actually a really fun experience and I am happy I did it!

First, you have to apply it and submit your application on United website when the flight attendant opposition is opening. Then, you will get an assessment, kinda like a personality test. Second, you will be invited to a virtual interview. basically, you need to answer 8 questions and record your answers. You have 3 attempts to record it.
