      Instructional Designer Interview

      14 Jan 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group

      Interview

It took about 3 weeks after applying to be invited to do a digital interview. Approximately 2 weeks later I had an invite for a group interview with 4 managers via phone. 2 weeks later I received an invite to interview with one team of 15 designers via phone. About a week later I had a verbal offer and the background check began. They check everything very thoroughly to make sure it matches up so it takes awhile and also the drug test. This took about 3 weeks and then I started. So the entire process took me 2 months and 3 weeks.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group (Minneapolis, MN) in Jan 2022

      Interview

I received a text (not an email or call) from a recruiter after completing an online application. The recruiter and I texted and scheduled a quick screening call. During the screening call we discussed salary range and my requirements. I said I was looking for 80-85k and the recruiter said okay, that’s in range and we will move you ahead in the interview process. I received an invite maybe two weeks later (I really thought at this point I was not going to move to the next step because it took awhile). The interview itself was good. The manager and a senior ID asked questions that were applicable to the position and they allowed me to discuss some pieces in my portfolio with them. I was offered the job during a casual HR call two weeks later and again, salary was discussed and the HR person confirmed 80-85k was within range. The HR person said they’d email the contract to me the following Monday, but I didn’t actually get a call until Wednesday with an offer from a different HR person for 75k. I said no but I’d be willing to negotiate to get closer to 80k and also told her about my previous conversations in which 80-85k was discussed. She said she had nothing on file about my required salary, and didn’t think the offer was negotiable, but said she would discuss with the hiring manager. The following day I received a call from a different HR person and she had nothing on file regarding the call I received the previous day. Again, I was offered 75k, so I just declined. A huge waste of my time and the time of the hiring manager. The HR department at UHG is very unprofessional and unorganized. If a candidate gives you a bottom line, don’t waste their time interviewing if you plan to give them a low ball offer.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Noida
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group (Noida) in Nov 2017

      Interview

Highly mismanaged, no clarity and sheer waste of time and effort. Highly disappointing. Unclear expectations from the role and the test and role didn't seem to be in sync .
