      Senior Analyst Interview

      23 Dec 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Wayfair (Boston, MA) in Oct 2021

      Interview

Short Story: 5-6 interviews. They keep a running list of top applicants and string along the others that they consider for months. Then they fire hundreds of the newer employees at a time within months of hiring them because they have a very short term strategy or inept at identifying the labor required for their failed business functions. Long Story: Went through 5-6 interviews that spanned a few months. Once I reached the fourth interview, the recruiter forgot to schedule it. Then two weeks later the recruiter replied and said they there were other managers interested for different verticals. Had one of those managers ghost me on the scheduled interview and then finished with a manager who was late to the interview while he was working from home. Worst applicant experience. This company hires 100+ at a time and then fires hundreds at a time for roles that they originally needed to fill in the short run. Check the news, they are always firing (outside of leading on candidates for months with roles that are unlikely to sustain themselves). Deceptive by design. Part of their company strategy is convincing candidates that they are a “tech company”. I wanted to ask: How does selling light fixtures, cheap furniture and household items via e-commerce make you a tech company? Moral of the Story: A) They are not a tech company, this is a ploy to recruit data driven kids with skills to create an image. B) I didn’t write all of this just because they wasted my time through 5-6 interviews (nor mad for not getting an offer). Just want to warn others for their toxic hire/fire culture. C) If you decide to apply anyway, best of luck. I would hold it precedent by asking the recruiter in the phone screen how many interviews are part of the process. Then I would remember this when they ghost you or kick the can on the 5th interview.

      Interview

Pathetic. Interviewed with multiple teams, standard questions but I don’t know why they have such high standards for entry level roles. They use google sheets for analytics. Yeah, you read that right. The offer is very difficult to come by, utter waste of time for the salary they pay

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Wayfair in Aug 2025

      Interview

I applied and had a recruiter phonescreen. This recruiter was pinch-hitting from London for some Boston recruiters. I thought it went well, he said he thought it was a good match and he'd have an update for me in 24 hours. Unsurprisingly for Wayfair, there was no update. A day after I was supposed to get the update, I was rejected by an ATS form letter. Lack of respect, really.

      Application

      Interview

It was structured and smooth. There's an online assessment, a recruiter phone screen, a hiring manager round, a case study interview (75 min), and a behavior panel interview (30 min*3). I think the process may vary depending on the role.
