Started with an email application. I had to call a few times to get a response. Once the phone calls were received I began communicating directly with CFO. A couple more conversations later and I received an offer to intern.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Weather Metrics (Mission, KS) in Jul 2009
Interview
I applied for this position online, then received a phone call and did an initial phone screen with the hiring manager. The phone interview was very straightforward, where did I want to be in 5 years and why do I want to work for this organization.
I was then scheduled for a one on one interview approximately a week later. The company and office is very small and has a small company feel. The one on one interview went pretty smooth and lasted less than 30 minutes. The typical "Tell me about yourself and a few behavioral questions were asked. How do you handle conflict was a specific questions that as asked. I felt very good about the interview.
My biggest complaint is that the interviewer lied to me. He assured me he would get back to me either way. I called approximately a week later, spoke to him on the phone. He reminded me he had my email address and promised to get back to me either way. I then proceeded to wait 2 weeks and sent a handwritten letter, waited two more weeks and called again to find out the status. In this job climate it's almost cruel to promise someone you'll get back to them, leaving them thinking they still have a chance, and never follow through.
