First a Phone interview with HR. Then a few days later another interview with HR, passed the screening, then across the street to a 1 hour interview with the PAS department hiring manager. The next day HR calls to schedule a week later, an eight panel member, 90 minute interview. Four days later, “a walking tour of the facilities” with four of the panel members and the hiring manager. The HR person even sounded somewhat aghast that after three interviews including the eight person panel interview they would make you come back a third time for “a walking facility tour”. She said "she wants you to come in again!" Three days total investment which would be fine if you are not losing PTO time on your current job.
Three weeks later, I still have no courtesy decline communication or answer. I have passed a government security clearance, so no background issues. I feel it is extremely rude and inconsiderate for a candidate that invests this much time to receive no communication for a 32k a year position. If you just did a phone screen and got no decline letter, maybe that is acceptable.
I assume that this hiring manager for routinely wastes a lot of WellStar's time, her time and is extremely inconsiderate of a candidates time, gas, and the fact that you have to use vacation or personal time to come to 4 interviews. Not to promptly notify one of your status is extremely rude after making it down to the final two. How much time could it possibly take to extend this simple courtesy after a candidate willingly invests this much and the manager clearly has time to spare?
