Before getting hired I worked at a different Whole Foods in the produce department. I made sure to work a shift at the store I applied for position. I also made sure to ask all ATL's and buyers a lot of questions. Learning basic concepts such as margin is important. It also helps to learn procedures such as the ordering process. I shadowed the buyer at my old store and actually did an order. I prepared a lot for the interview. I asked my ATL's what questions to be prepared for. I asked the new department ideas about their department. Have something ready on how to improve the department. I think it is important to not rip apart the department but rather highlight how you can take steps to improve the department even more. Prepare a good opening and closing statement. This gives a chance to sell yourself. It also is something you have complete control over. You can't control WHICH questions they ask.
