As a guest and potential hire at the annual TeamMate User Forum last week, I haven't been formally interviewed, but this internal audit management software company (part of Wolters Kluwer) and I have spent these three days sizing each other up before we commit to going any further. The official recruiting/hiring process will begin next week.
Despite having to help run a huge conference, members of the management team somehow carved out plenty of time for 1-on-1 meetings to answer all my questions about their company and their software products -- and to help me figure out what role would be the best fit.
After closely observing and talking with dozens of their staff for three days, it's clear to me that they love working together and socializing together. High-achieving culture, but also people-centered. Every employee I met was very accomplished but also very down-to-earth. They went out of their way to welcome me, include me, and help me to learn a lot -- even when the bosses weren't watching.
