I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Yelp (Scottsdale, AZ) in May 2013
Interview
Applied online and was emailed back quickly that my application was being reviewed. I was emailed the next day with information about the job and and salary and if they met my needs. The next correspondence was to schedule a 15 minute phone interview. After the phone interview I was emailed that it went well and I would be having a Skype interview since I am out of state.
For the Skype interview, I was called about 10 minutes prior to test out my connection and was told that the first interviewer would call me back. About 10 minutes on the dot, the interviewer called me back and asked me some questions and did role playing with me about wanting to cancel their advertising because it did not work for them. Afterwards I was told I would get another Skype call in a few minutes with another manager.
The second Skype call came and I was asked some more questions and another role play for a customer who received a bad review and wanted to take it down immediately. After this I was told the managers would meet and make their decisions.
Two days later I received an email thanking me and that I was not chosen.
Standard filtering/fluff questions followed by a Mock sales pitch. It was not very different from other Sales/CS roles that I have applied to. It was not very difficult or novel at all.

I just had a quick screening call, and it was really focused on sales, more than on customer service. Cold calling is a big part of the role, and commissions don’t start until about 6 months in.
