I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Yelp (San Francisco, CA) in May 2013
Interview
I was first contacted over the phone. Had a brief phone interview which they prepare you for. I think as other people said this is just to make sure they are not completely wasting their time and that you sound good on the phone. Next I came into the Yelp office and met with three different sales managers. Two of them were great, one was a complete jackass. Each one asked typical interview question. Like have you ever failed at something, describe yourself in three words. After each manager had a chance to ask those questions I did a role play for a normal Yelp sales call. First one was setting at up a time to give the sales pitch and the second was trying to get a customer to use Yelp even after they said they did want to use Yelp anymore. Be sure to listen to the feedback given and ask a lot of questions. If you do that you should be fine!

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Yelp (Austin, TX) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.

Question 1
One question they asked during my interview was what specifically about the role made me feel it was a strong fit for my background and experience.
The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
It was a one time interview over video call with a pre call before. One on one with a training manager. Pretty simple not too hard at all. Lasted 30 minutes with questions and role plays.
