I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Yogis Grill in May 2025
Interview
It started with a call to come in and do the interview. However, when I got there, the interview was all of five seconds: Did I know basic Japanese cuisine? Gyoza, Udon, Yakisoba, Katsu, Miso, etc. Then, I was given a packet about an observation hour where I was to follow their instructions and ask NO questions, to see how I'd do. However, this packet did not provide me nearly enough details to be successful, and it turned into an hour of absolute ridicule and shame about how slow I was going for not knowing the exact way their restaurant worked, despite getting it by the end. Was told "we will tell you if you're doing something wrong," and then when I did something wrong, they would ask "what are you doing wrong?" which was extremely frustrating and unhelpful. Also was told I'd be paid for my hour, and was never paid.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Yogis Grill (Chandler, AZ) in Dec 2018
Interview
The interviewer contacted me through text around two months prior and asked me to submit a google review of the restaurant. She then asked if I could come in for an interview to which I replied that I was not in Arizona currently. She then proceeded to contact me today and ask the same question and when I told her I already provided the review she inquired about why I had applied again. I told her it was because I thought you had to apply to different applications for each of their locations. She said that I wasted her time and that I shouldn't be applying to restaurant jobs if I'm not currently in the area. I found the interview to be very unprofessional and passive aggressive. I do not recommend working for this establishment if that is the way they treat future employees.
