      Marketing Assistant Interview

      16 Sept 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Young Foodies (London, England) in Feb 2020

      Interview

Phone interview, face-to-face interview, a task, and a final interview. They invited me to the office for a final one. After the final interview, they suggest I meet the team I would be working with. Since the team wasn't in, they suggest to do it by phone the next day. I don't hear from them and after days they send an email saying they decided to hire someone for a different position and push this one back for now.

      Marketing Assistant Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Young Foodies in Sept 2022

      Interview

A really strange process. I applied via LinkedIn for a Marketing Assistant position and received a message a few weeks after, asking if I was free for an initial phone conversation to discuss my experience. After a week or so of chasing I managed to negotiate a time and date for the call. I had presumed that, given I had applied for a position with Young Foodies and given that I had been contacted in relation to it, this would be an interview. I was actually told on the phone that this position wasn’t available. I’m not sure if the position ever was available or if it was offered to someone else as the details were really unclear. I was asked by the interviewer to keep in touch if I accepted a new role which seemed an odd thing to ask as there are no opportunities available at Young Foodies and the interviewer did not know if there would be any in the near future. I was told they would keep my details on their file and be in touch if they had any new positions in the near future. It felt like a massive waste of my time and resources to apply for a job that seemingly did not exist and very unprofessional to not have that explicitly explained to me ahead of this bizarre phone call. I won’t be applying for any roles with Young Foodies again as I wouldn’t trust if their job postings exist or not.
