      Junior Market Research Analyst Interview

      20 Jun 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Berlin
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Zalando (Berlin)

      Interview

The recruiting process was clear and well-structured, though it ended up taking significantly longer than expected (3 months instead of initially estimated 1). The process consisted of three stages: 1) a 30-minute introductory call with the internal recruiter. 2) a 1.5-hour interview with the hiring manager and a team member. The first part focused on my previous experience, role expectations, and behavioral questions, followed by a numerical online case study and additional questions related to market research methods. 3) a final interview with the teamlead, which focused on my experience, expectations, and team fit. Overall, the experience was interesting and engaging. Each provided a deeper understanding of the role and team dynamics.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

There were classic interview questions covering previous experience, client and stakeholder communication, project management, and role expectations. In addition, I was asked about specific research and statistical methods and how I applied them in my professional work. For example, I was asked to describe a situation where I dealt with a difficult client and how I managed to deliver a project under those circumstances. Another question explored how I would explain statistical significance to a stakeholder without a strong background in mathematics or research.
