      Product Marketing Manager Interview

      12 Jan 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Zendesk in Oct 2021

      Interview

This was one of the best interview experiences for me. The process took 6+ weeks and consisted of 4 rounds. I was referred by a team member within the team I was interviewing for (I found this person through a PMM platform) and during our initial calls, we realized that I was a good fit for the role, while the role was what I was looking for. After that, I met with the hiring manager, all the other members of the team and was given a short assignment. The assignment involved creating a GTM plan for a new feature launch and presenting it to various members of the larger marketing org. Soon after, I was presented the offer, which I accepted. The entire process was super smooth and I had clarity from the recruiter at every stage. Everyone I met was friendly and all interviews were more of a conversation than a back and forth.

      Question 1

What is one product that is marketed well and why? What do you think our competitors are doing that is better than us? How do you position a product? What should a good relationship with Product Management look like?

      Product Marketing Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Zendesk

      Interview

First screening with Recruiter was relaxed, direct and highly informative. Second interview was 45 minutes with Director who was a fantastic interviewer. He asked questions that offered insight into the larger team of 50 in Product Marketing as well as offered advise on expectations for the first 90 days. I'm taking his advise into my next role, though I didn't progress at Zendesk. Great, positive experience. Highly recommend applying.
