      Social Media and Editorial Interview

      25 Mar 2016
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at iConcept Media (New York, NY) in Dec 2015

      Interview

It was phone interview, the woman who interviewed me was very kind, asked me questions about what I was interested in, why I wanted the position, what I had to bring to the table, etc. They emailed me a few days later with an intern job offer. She wasn't as personable as other interviews (both in person and phone) that I have had, but not so much as rude, she definitely wasn't rude, just very to the point. And I learned that about her as she became my boss as well, but a very nice person overall. I had to ask a few questions about the company that I didn't usually have to ask- usually companies try to lure you in as well as you trying to impress them. I.e, work culture, etc. I learned (through both interview process and interning here) that the work culture is very remote. The company is small and they communicate through Skype often. I recommend this for any college student (maybe a Junior) who isn't ready to commute into the city yet. I would have liked to go to the office more often, but that's just not the way the company is really set up. I ended up getting an offer and accepting!
