Pros

Working with youths and families to access services is important work. Families genuinely appreciate the support as the need is great.

Cons

Management is verbally disrespectful, resources are wasted at an ad nausium rate. Perhaps more attention to monitoring waste could lead to pay rates that actually do lift people out of poverty. I'd like to see their leadership live the model of kindness and respect and reward supervisor's and managers for this type work ethic. Also, more attention needs to be paid to nepotism, workplace relationships.I swear, if you're not related to or in relationship with someone, you can just forget about working there or getting ahead.

Terrible pay, no growth

Pros

One of the only pros is that the people in Dorchester office were great. I was happy to get case management experience

Cons

Pay is horrible at $16 an hour and you only work 35 hours which is what they consider full time for all staff. You make so little here as a case manager that you qualify for ABCD's services. Embarrassing and ironic. Some management comes across as very unprofessional. During a GoogleMeet video interview for a new position, one of the managers was eating lunch with her camera off. Very weird if you ask me. It isn't bad for a few months to gain experience but do not expect to support yourself on this salary. There are better options in Boston and surrounding areas that pay way more after you get your case management experience. I started at ABCD making 30k a year and I make 45k now doing the same thing for a different company.
